Yahzarah has created a unique mold that cannot be replicated. She is one of a kind. She is the confluence of that which is both classic and cutting edge. Hearing Yahzarah elevate from a soul diva to a funk shaman causes your ears and soul to be inundated with a sound that's part Shirley Caesar and part Sly Stone, with a touch of the Brides of Funkenstein. Prepare to be pulled in, and to become hooked on Ms. Purple St. James.
YahZarah has released three musical ventures to date: “Hear Me” , “Black Star” & "The Prelude (under the name Purple St. James)". YahZarah is featured on the albums Connected and Leave It All Behind by The Foreign Exchange and the Little Brother album The Minstrel Show. www.myspace.com/yahzarah
CHINABLAC:
It's a common story nowadays ... an artist stepping out of the shadow of backing - vocalism to express his or her personal creativity with an album. A singer that's doing this with success and grace is Chinahblac who, after her background and arrangement work withJill Scott andErykah Badu debuts with Introducing Eugenia Shata. ChinahBlac possesses the rare capability of twisting a song into different dimensions. Starting out slightly dark or dejected and evolving into harmonious, dreamy pieces of art. An exceptional capacity that provides the album with the element of surprise.Supporting everyone from TheDave Mathews Band, being the vocal director for Erykah Badu to presently recording, arranging, and touring with Jill Scott (Hate On Me, My Love, All I from “The Real Thing” Words and sounds Vol 3.), she has become one of the most sought after vocal arrangers in the industry. ChinahBlac has seasoned herself in the world of music and is now making her introduction to the world as a solo artist with a live show that's bring the fire back to music. http://www.myspace.com/thechinahblac
