Flashback: N'Dambi's live performance at The Shrine (march 2010)

N'DAMBI @ THE SHRINE CHICAGO from The Shrine on Vimeo.

N'Dambi performed live on March 6th at The Shrine, the video is a montage of her performance, also featuring an interview with Ron Trent.

Beginning as a background singer for Neo-Soul legend Erykah Badu, Dallas, Texas' own N’dambi has been singing nearly her entire life. She delivered her debut solo CD Little Lost Girl Blues in 1999. Since then she has released the two-disc set Tunin' Up & Cosignin', which focused more on a live and jazzy sound and contains new versions of several songs from her debut. After this, in 2005, she released A Weird Kind Of Wonderful, which contained funkier and more rock-influenced tracks. It was released only in Japan, which made it a very sought-after collector's item on eBay. These projects were released independently by N'dambi, but still managed to garner considerable critical acclaim. In late 2006 N'dambi was signed to the re-activated Stax Records along with Angie Stone, Lalah Hathaway, Soulive and Leon Ware. Her latest album Pink Elephant was released on October 6, 2009 (Album release party was at The Shrine).

On Pink Elephant, N’dambi ingeniously distills soul-deep inspiration into a sensual style of elegance and power, making her a fundamental new addition to the Stax legacy.
